February: Pilots
For February, I decided to concentrate on pilots that launched successful television shows. As discussed last month with The Big Bang Theory and Revenge, pilots need to introduce a lot of information in a compelling manner while showing that the premise can successfully support seasons upon seasons full of episodes. I'm especially curious to see what elements stick out and if the diverse pilot scripts seem to have commonalities.
First up I'll be reading the pilot of Ally McBeal, a show that ran for 112 episodes over five seasons and is still referenced today.
